Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has shared a light-hearted moment with her husband, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as the couple spent time together in the United States.

A video shared online on Friday, September 4, 2026, shows Dorcas shaving Gachagua’s hair as the couple enjoyed a relaxed moment at what appeared to be a waterfront location.

The couple could be seen laughing and chatting as Dorcas attended to her husband’s haircut.

“Don’t make it too short,” Gachagua jokingly told his wife as they laughed.

Dorcas responded, “For what?” before suggesting that he could simply wear a hat.

The exchange offered a glimpse into the couple’s private time away from Gachagua’s political activities.

Gachagua and Dorcas Enjoy Family Time

The light moment comes as Gachagua and Dorcas spend time together during their extended stay in the United States.

The former Deputy President left Kenya on Wednesday, August 26, accompanied by his wife, for a trip expected to last about 50 days.

The couple appears to have used the initial part of their visit to spend private time together before Gachagua begins a series of public engagements across the United States.

The relaxed outing provided a different side of the former Deputy President, who has remained active in Kenyan politics in recent months.

Gachagua Begins US Tour

Gachagua, who leads the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), is in the US as part of an international tour expected to include political and diaspora engagements.

The tour comes as the former Deputy President and his party position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

During the visit, Gachagua is expected to meet Kenyans living in different parts of the United States and discuss issues affecting the diaspora as well as developments in Kenya.

Before leaving the country, Gachagua said the trip would also provide an opportunity to step away from the pressure of local politics, reflect on his political plans and recharge following months of intense activity.

Public Engagements Set to Begin

The family time comes as Gachagua prepares to begin his public engagements.

His schedule is expected to start on Friday, September 4, in Spokane, Washington, where he is expected to interact with Kenyans living in the area and participate in activities connected to his political tour.

Although much of the visit is linked to his political activities, the video shared by Dorcas offered followers a glimpse of the couple enjoying a quieter moment away from public appearances and political meetings.

For Dorcas, giving her husband a haircut became a simple and playful family moment during an extended trip that is now set to move into a busier phase of political and diaspora engagements.
